Nelson Airport Redevelopment

A Much Needed Upgrade for the Region.

The Nelson Airport $32 million-dollar redevelopment was a much-needed upgrade to the gateway of the Nelson/Tasman regions. The redevelopment will greatly enhance the customer experience with more space for seating, airline lounges, toilets, new retail spaces and increased car parking.

This unique building mimics the mountain range that it looks out upon.

Tuffnell Plumbing Drainage & Gas used KE KELIT COPPERFIX pipes and fittings in this redevelopment.

Contractors:

Architects: Studio Pacific Architecture

Project Manager: Aesculus Project Management

Structural Engineer: Dunning Thornton

Civil Engineer: CGW Consulting Engineers

Piping Systems:

“This building was specified in copper and we chose the COPPERFIX system because of the ease of installation and ideal pipe sizing range.

Having the pipe sizing graphs made it easy to resize the pipework to comply with all the parameters of the project, while making it very economical to use a premium European product in this installation.

Stage A is now complete, and we will continue with COPPERFIX in stage B.
Our experience with this KE KELIT’s COPPERFIX on this project has impressed us greatly and we plan to use other KE KELIT products such as the STEELFIX system on our upcoming projects”.
