Unique Concept.

The low-temperature radiator ULOW-E2 combined with E2 technology is a unique concept that gives high heat outputs even with low water temperatures without compromising style. The ULOW-E2 low-temperature radiator can easily be used at a supply temperature of even lower than 40°C with modern and conventional energy sources, such as oil or gas but also with renewable energy sources such as heat pump or a solar spring.

Innovative Touchpad Control

The key feature of the ULOW-E2 is the fans, which assist the natural convection. The intelligent control panel will automatically switch between static and dynamic operation depending upon the room condition. The radiator is at its highest efficiency during static operation, therefore the fans will only be active when necessary.

Efficient & Intelligent

The ULOW-E2 provides radiant heat via the water-filled front panel, however, enhanced convection will also come from the fans. Due to the intelligent control between static and dynamic operation, heat-up times will be rapid. Maximum thermal comfort can be achieved even with water supply temperatures as low as 40°C.

Proven Central Connection Technology

The ULOW-E2 is supplied as a ready-to-fit product and is as easy, flexible and economical to install as a standard radiator.

All installation devices are freely accessible. This method of installation saves money and time at every service and cleaning. The cleaning of a ULOW-E2 is the same than at every other radiator. The fans are removable to the right and to the left.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The ULOW-E2 LOW-TEMPERATURE RADIATOR is - with its welded in set of T-shaped valves - suitable for double-pipe installations as well as single-pipe installations, using a single-pipe manifold. Additionally to the central connection from the bottom, the sophisticated design makes possible other connections used at compact radiators, such as the single-sided and two-sided connection.

Radiators are delivered ready for double-pipe installation and with a factory-adjusted kV-setting, appropriate to the radiator output.

For district heating installations with a big difference between water supply and return temperature, a valve unit that allows a precise and stepless adjustment is available on request.

Of course it is also possible to change the pre-adjusted valve setting when the equipment is operating at pressure.

Double-pipe operation - Adjustment tips for built-in valves

Setting instructions:
VOGEL&NOOT valve radiators are factory-fitted for double-pipe installations. Each individual radiator is fitted with a pre-adjusted valve insert, appropriate to the radiator output. The preset kv-value is also marked in colour on the front surface.

Please note:
Should customised adjustments be required, the pre-set kv-values can be altered as needed. Swapping the right-hand side built-in valve to the left-hand side is no problem at all at any time. Radiator are delivered with protective caps. After removing the protective cap (pos. A) the following thermostat heads can be fitted directly to the builtin valve (pos. B): “RA 2000”, “RAW” by Danfoss, “VK” by Heimeier, “D” by Herz, “thera DA” by MNG and “UNI XD” by Oventrop.

Single-pipe operation - Factory-adjusted built-in valve

In single-pipe operation, setting the built-in valve on N.

The radiator will be delivered with a protective cap. After removing the protective cap (item A) the following thermostat heads can be installed directly onto the built-in valve (item B): „RA 2000“ and „RAW“ by Danfoss, „VK“ by Heimeier, „theraDA“ by MNG, as well as „UNI XD“ by Oventrop.

Caution: During the installation take care that the return element (2) has been installed at the water return and the supply element (1) at the water supply. Changing the built-in valve from the right- to the left-hand side can easily be done at any time.

General Remarks:
The ULOW-E2 low-temperature radiator is a combination of a T6 central-connection type 22 radiator with a dynamically controlled fan unit, which – depending on pre-settings – switches on automatically at full load. This ensures a signiﬁ cant increase in heat output. In light of these purely factual considerations, the VOGEL&NOOT – ULOW-E2 is suitable for use in all low-temperature heating circuits (e.g. 40/35; 35/30…) and is compatible with other systems (e.g. under-ﬂ oor heating, wall heating).

Thanks to its traditional design, the ULOW-E2 low-temperature radiator can be operated with all heat-generating sources (biomass, heat pump, solar technology, condensing boiler, oil-ﬁ red condensing boiler &c). When connected to a heat source that can be switched to cooling operation (e.g. heat pump), the ULOW-E2 low-temperature radiator has a pre-installed and already integrated “temperature control function”. (Note: this function is only available if all pre-installed system settings for cooling operation have been implemented.)

Materials & Surfaces
Central-connection radiator made of cold-rolled sheet steel, conforming to EN 442-1; zinc-plated 1mm thick front panel; primer coating, conforming to DIN 55900 part 1, stoved at 190° C; ﬁnished with an electrostatic powder coating, conforming to DIN 55900 part 2, in RAL 9016, stoved at an object temperature of 210° C; complete with a built-in valve set, suitable for double-pipe and single-pipe operation using a one-pipe manifold; the kv value of the factory-installed built-in valve is pre-set and co-ordinated with the heat output, but adjustments in the range 0.13 to 0.72 can be made as required. Setting for the radiator share with single-pipe systems: 30% to 50%.

Fittings:
Fitted with an installed thermostat valve and mounting cap, welded rear-side mounting brackets, removable perforated top cover, and two closed removable side panels. Integrated, ready-installed 12-volt fan unit as support for full-load operation (each unit approx. 1 watt – the number of air output units depends on the radiator’s overall length and is determined by the manufacturers). The fan units are ﬂexibly fastened to a guide rail; to replace them remove one side panel by loosening the contacts under the top-cover, then simply pull the fan units out (the lateral wall clearance has to be at least 150mm so as to ensure that the fan units can be removed and replaced). The integrated fan units are controlled by a clearly set out regulation and control unit where individual settings can be entered. The regulation and control unit is located on the upper surface of the top cover and its operation requires a 230volt connection. The appropriate thermostat head is also enclosed as part of the package (the symbols on the thermostat head match the settings symbols on the speciﬁ ed control & regulation unit – and so proper operation is only possible with the enclosed thermostat head). Additionally, there is a drain plug, pivoting special vent plug and dummy plug, all of them sealed.

Technical Data:
Complete pre-installation is an option; for ﬂ ushing and leak testing use VN mounting template ¾ external thread and VN ﬂush device (accessory); can alternatively be connected as a compact radiator, with single-sided or interchangeable connection; performance-tested, in conformity with DIN EN 442; production is constantly monitored, in conformity with EN-ISO 9001/9002; triple-packaging (cardboard, edge protection, shrink foil); different connection options for copper, steel, plastic and metal-plastic bonded pipes. Maximum positive operating pressure: 10 bar, and test pressure: 13 bar; Maximum operating temperature: 60° C (because of the fan units); Safety class: IP24 Operation modes: static operation, comfort operation and boost operation.

Connections:
4 x G ½ internal thread and 2 x G ¾ external thread, underside centre. Thermostat valve top right (can be swapped to top left problem-free).
