BROEN FULL FLOW Stainless Steel Valves with EPD redefining environmental responsibility
BROEN has developed a new unique full flow valve DN 10-50 to meet the demands for reliability, efficiency, quality and environmental impact in modern construction. All BROEN FULL FLOW valves are EPD 3rd part verified. Thanks to the EPD, you can really know the environmental performance of the products you're buying, and by choosing products that have less impact than others on the market, you can reduce the environmental impact of a building and therefore its economic value.
The BROEN FULL FLOW valve is the most flexible valve available. It delivers trouble-free operation in countless systems because its material standards and technologies are uniform.
- All Systems – One Technology
- Compact Full Flow design
- Connection Flexibility
- Unique valve identification
- Danish innovation - Produced in Denmark
- Environmental product declaration
BROEN FULL FLOW stainless steel valves are particularly well suited for drinking water installations, but they can also be used for other purposes, such as:
Central heating systems, Cooling systems, Industry, Certain types of compressed air systems and Systems for treated water
Product Features:
- Available sizes from DN 10 to DN50
- Pressure rated PN16
- A range of connection types are available, Press, Thread and Swivel.
- Available in both low and high handles.
Environmental Product Declaration, what is it and what does it mean?
The building and construction sector contributes to approximately 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions and has the potential for large reductions. For this to be achieved, the whole-life carbon impacts must be considered during the design and building process.
An EPD documents and verifies the environmental performance of a product, such as the products energy and resource consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact from the production of the product. It also takes into account the lifetime and disposal resources once the product has reached its end of life.
BROEN Valve Technologies EPDs are all third party verified by EDP-HUB, ensuring you that they fulfil the requirements set out in the ISO 14025, ISO 21930 and EN15804 standards.
How are EPDs used in a Building-LCA?
Life cycle assessment (LCA) within the building design process is an established method for assessing a wide range of environmental impacts focusing on a single issue – global warming potential – commonly termed “carbon footprint”.
An EPD is the core element of a building life cycle assessment (LCA). LCA helps designers evaluate the environmental consequences of different designs by comparing buildings, materials, or assemblies.
Building certifications such as DGNB (Deutsche Gesellschaft für nachhaltiges Bauen), LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), or BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) show how buildings perform in terms of sustainability. Certified buildings will eventually mean long-term value retention for builders and investors, as the assessment of the sustainability of a project depends on the products used, and the incentive to optimise products in terms of sustainability is growing.
Valves are one element of many in a building that contributes to carbon emissions, even if they only make up a small part of its ecological footprint. BROEN valves can contribute to the certification of a building for example they are water-saving and energy-saving.
Products with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) are an advantage in the certification process because they contribute to the ecological assessment of a building as they are transparent in terms of material sustainability, and why BROEN FULL FLOW Stainless Steel Valves make the perfect choice to use in your next building project.
